The Wine

The Wine

Our careful, sustainable approach in the vineyard continues into the winemaking. We separate the harvest into different fermenters depending on its location in the vineyard and style. We use a combination of new French oak, seasoned oak and stainless steel and a variety of extraction techniques and lengths of maceration, alongside a portion of whole bunch. With three vintages under our belt, we use the above methods to create our style of a medium-bodied, elegant and savoury wine. Our Shiraz is highly aromatic with notes of violet, lavender, garrigue herb and pomegranate, and a core of blue fruit.
To ensure we are as sustainable as possible we use partly recycled Australian lightweight glass bottles and our cork of choice is DIAM10 Origine (beeswax emulsion binding agent instead of plastic). We hand wax seal our wines and use Australian sourced boxes.

We hope that those who have passed would be pleased with how we have decided to express ourselves, the land  and the vines, through Parea Estate.

The Name

We wanted the name of our wine to embody our shared ethos of wine and its bonding powers; this is when we struck upon the ancient word Parea and its apt meaning:
‘A group of individuals, who gather together for the joy of sharing their experiences, philosophies and ideas.’
